Frequently Asked Questions
Getting a new roof is a major project and requires knowledge and a specified skill set. Many roofing companies in the Dallas area lack in the knowledge, and often unknowingly void manufacturer warranties. For example, many shingle manufacturers require specific pairing of underlayment, starter shingles, and ridge shingles. Not following the requests of the manufacturer can result in a voided warranty.
Advent Roofing & Restoration replaces EVERY aspect of your roof upon a full roof replacement. Underlayment, starter strip, shingles, hip and ridge cap, flashing, ventilation, pipe jack boots, and ice and water barrier are all new and replaced to city code, and to specifications of Owens Corning‘s warranty guidelines.
The truthful answer is NO. Many find that your average roofing company in Dallas all too often offer to “waive” or “absorb” the deductible from an insurance claim, thus committing insurance fraud. This offense is punishable on a state jail felony scale, and by default would incriminate the homeowner as well. Nevertheless, there may be items within the claim that a homeowner can use to offset the cost of the deductible. Advent Roofing & Restoration is committed to doing everything we can to help with the cost through legal means. We strongly caution anyone not to do business with anyone claiming they can eliminate or absorb a deductible. Transparency and honesty should come first!
*As of September 1, 2019: “Texas law requires a person insured under a property insurance policy to pay any deductible applicable to a claim made under the policy. It is a violation of Texas law for a seller of goods or services who reasonably expects to be paid wholly or partly from the proceeds of a property insurance claim to knowingly allow the insured person to fail to pay, or assist the insured person’s failure to pay, the applicable insurance deductible.”
